UC: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, It’s just dumb.

There was a poll on Fox 19 asking the question: Are you angry with Brian Kelly? Of course majority of the people said yes. My answer to that question is no. I believe that Brian Kelly made an unwise choice (which will be discussed later) however I will be more angry if UC confirms with the next coach that we are indeed a “stepping stone” football school. We have had two coaches Dantonio and Brian Kelly who have used UC as a stepping stone. They have worked with UC and then once they got enough shine, went to other schools that have more prestige. Now that UC has leverage in making it to two Bowl games and an undefeated season, they can now demand coaches of a higher caliber that are truly into coaching and its not all about the money. Now what I am going to propose that UC does is radical, many of serious, knowledgeable sports fans have said there is no way that anyone would sign a contract like this. If I were UC, the next contract would have a clause in it that states that the coach will coach for the next five years. If the coach leaves for another coaching position before the five years is up, there will be a penalty fee of 5 million dollars. I know you think this is crazy and no one will agree to these terms, however look at it from this perspective. When you get hired for a job, sometimes there is a background check and a drug test. Once you do both, the terms of the contract are that you didn’t lie about your criminal record or will pick up a weed habit along the way. If you aren’t a weed smoker, you have no problems signing a contract saying you won’t smoke because you don’t smoke. So if I have no intentions of leaving on the first thing smoking than I have no problem in signing a clause that does not affect me. The problem is they are getting coaches that desire to be at other spots and not coaches that love coaching and sees UC as a home. UC needs to make a point that it is not a stepping stone. As for Brian Kelley, he did not use his stepping stone wisely. Notre Dame, really?!? This school has a track record of firing people who don’t perform by their standards and time frame. The stakes at ND are high. They demand excellence and when they don’t get it, you’re gone. At UC, there were no expectations other than win more than what we have been in the past. Brian Kelly would have been a god at UC, since UC football sucked before the pass three seasons (which Kelly needs to thank Dantonio for paving the way). ND doesn’t even get the top football athletes because of ND academic standards. They have signed great players but not as many as UC could sign after possibly going undefeated (not set in stone yet) in a competitive season and with lower academic standards for admission. Brian Kelly’s ego accepted the position at ND, figuring he could be “the one”. Although I wish him the best, I hope he saves his money during his limited term at ND for the pending pink slip.

Yeah I said it, and the Bearcats will win without him. OOOOOHHH- OOOOHHHHH-OOOOHHHH- UC!
